Pillowcase Bag

I have made pillowcase dresses (see here and here) but never a bag. This looks quick and easy and would be a great way to actually use up some pretty pillowcases - the ones you like but they don't match your bed, etc. This idea from Martha Stewart.

A New Crop of Confetti...

...is what jewelry designer Michelle Taylor calls her latest additions to her shop, Blue Moss.

According to Michelle, she started designing her own pieces when she was unable to find what she liked. Apparently, enough people kept asking her "where did you get that?" that she began creating for others.
Sometimes people ask me that same question but I think it might be for different reasons.

She uses a great mix of vintage and found pieces for a really unique look.

Make this Drawstring Pouch

Karin has so kindly provided full instructions for how to make this cute drawstring pouch with carrying strap, including a pattern for the acorn embroidery. Of course you could put whatever you want on yours.
The instructions are clear and she uses lots of photos.

Fils et Ficelles is a blog I follow regularly and here's one of the reasons why. This very, very sweet necklace she made.

Little felted birdies. Love the soft Spring colors...gives me hope that Spring will soon come.

Speaking of birds...we have some nesters in our transom window at the front door again this year. I'll try to see if I can get some pictures.

How To: Fabric Flower Corsage

I love this fabric flower corsage. Of course you could pin it to a bag like Blair did over at Wise Craft but it would look great on a dress, sweater or t-shirt.
I absolutely love the fabric she used (and how much do you love that bag!?) but the fabric choices offer endles possibilities.

The Tutu

I made this tutu for Madison.

It was supposed to be part of her Halloween costume along with some purchased fairy wings and a tiara that I made. (I forgot to take a picture of the tiara.)
She did not like the fairy wings. But I was glad she liked the tutu. Getting a picture of her was difficult. She likes to run the loop through my house - through the parlor, the dining room, the kitchen then down the long hallway back through the parlor, the dining, room, the kitchen, down the hall,....you get the idea.
So I got this picture of her on the run. Cute.

It's PAPER! Hah! The beads are paper!

Scrap Fabric Belt

This is a great idea for using up scrap fabric from Area Thrifty One. (Don't you love that name?)

The complete tutorial is on her blog. It's simple and can be sewn to any size. Just fabric and D-rings. Take time while you're there to peruse her blog. Really cute stuff and very inspiring.

I also must say that it's killing me that I can't work on projects right now because I'm painting my new art/craft area upstairs. I really shouldn't complain. I am very fortunate to have the space to devote to creating. I will be able to access my materials better and don't have to worry about leaving a mess. It will also clear up a lot of mess and clutter in the den.

I "Heart" My Readers

It's another Friday and I'm back! We had a wonderful time while we were away. Right now I'm having huge issues with my camera so I can't take pictures of my work. So, for the next few postings you'll have to be satisfied with some beautiful inspiration from others.

Soda Can Pop Top Belt

I know I like to recycle but this soda-pop-top belt takes recycling to a whole new level.

Curious Girl was inspired by an article in Budget Living Magazine, which is now out of print.
She used over 100 pop tops.
