Play Kitchens
She made this for under $60 mostly out of recycled materials. Really cute and the ideas for expanding on this are endless!
Then I saw this kitchen from a Sears1959 Wishbook. The whole kitchen was priced at $27.95. Can you imagine! I know I'm showing my age, but I could have been that little girl and boy would I have loved this kitchen! It's pink for cryin' out loud.As a side note, I was about this age, maybe a little younger, when my grandmother took me shopping one day. I can't remember the store but I remember a photographer taking my picture playing with some of the toys in the store. I had no idea why he wanted my picture but I didn't need an excuse to play with those toys that's for sure! Then my picture showed up in the newspaper! I think it was some sort of article on Christmas shopping and the season and all that but I can't remember. It's been a long time since I've seen the picture but I'll never forget that day. I think my mom may still have it somewhere.

Carter's Onesie and Yoyo Dog

You may remember the little yoyo dog I posted about a couple of days ago.
I bought a onesie to go with it and appliqued the letter "C" in matching fabric to go with it. This set is for Carter, my son-in-law's sister's baby boy. I hope he will like it. He'll grow out of the onesie quickly but I hope he keeps the little yoyo dog I made for him for a long time. Cute, eh?

Yoyo Puppy Dog Softie

I made this little yoyo puppy dog softie for my son-in-law's sister. She has a brand new baby boy and I thought this would be perfect. 8 yoyos sewn together. I embroidered the ears and nose so there would be no loose buttons to swallow. I also triple stitched on the tail and ears. I'm also going to personalize a t shirt or a onesie to go with the puppy so it will be a set. I hope he likes it.

I Love Paper Dolls

I have always loved paper dolls. I distinctly remember when I was a little girl I couldn't wait for the next issue of McCall's to come so I could cut out the Betsy McCall paper dolls and clothes. I seem to remember having quite a collection at one time.
I am so going to make paper dolls for Madison when she's a little older. The doll with her head cocked to the side from Des Chapeaux. The Shirley Temple one is actually a virtual paper doll that you can play with at Rita Dubas.

Recycle Betty
This is Betty.I made this softie from a very nice sweater that was too small for me and I could not bear to get rid of.
The sweater, which I used for Betty's body, is a combination of cotton/poly/angora and is so soft. Betty's a tiny little thing, she is just barely 5" tall. Her scarf, cap and diaper are made of cotton fleece and are sewn on.
Are you making softies? I would love to see them>

Softie Bunny: Bitty
Experimenting with making felt animals from a picture in a Japanese craft book. This bunny's name is Bitty and he's about 4" tall.
I thought I would make Bitty in gray because I've been making a lot of things in pink lately.
He didn't live with us long because my sister claimed him as soon as she saw him.
